About Me
My name is Kat and I would like to share a little bit about myself with you and why I chose the educational path I am following. I own and operate a home-based baking business (K. L. Sweets & Treats) under the State of Alabama Cottage Food Law. I am also currently a Senior at Auburn University and my major is Hospitality Management in the Culinary Science Option with a minor in Business. I have been in the restaurant industry for about 20 years, and I have loved every minute of it. My love for people is what drove me to choose the culinary field. Food creates feelings and emotions in all of us. A great meal can give someone a lifetime of memories, and the smell of a particular meal can make one long for days gone by. The act of discovering new flavors and the camaraderie of sharing them with others has fueled community ties for thousands of years. I wanted to be part of helping others find those feelings and memories. To share travels from afar with everyone in the world without ever leaving home. You can go anywhere in the world to please your palate without ever leaving your kitchen...you only need to look at your plate. How amazing is that?!
